Q: How do I ship my breastmilk?

A:

Breastmilk prep kit: Please expect a breastmilk prep kit to arrive at your address within 3-5 business days. Please have at least one ounce of breastmilk ready. The kit will include a prepaid shipping label, instructions, and extra baggies if you are adding personal inclusions to your stone. You will ship your breastmilk back to us in that same package, and we will handle the rest!

Shipping milk yourself: After submitting your order, please expect an instructions email of how you will send us your milk.

Custom orders: Please expect an email from us to start evaluating your design.

Other items: Your order will be shipped according to the shipping method you will choose at checkout.

 

Q: How much breastmilk do I send?

A: At least one ounce!

 

Q: Can I send in other personal add-ins?

A: Yes. You can pack in your personal add-in items such as baby hair, ashes, dried flowers, etc. in little separate baggies.

1⁄2 tsp of ashes, 1-2 flower petals, 2-4 strands of baby hair, 2-3 mm of umbilical stump. Additional prices may vary. Leftover preserved milk will be kept for 6 months for future orders.

Other items such as left over umbilical stumps, hair, flowers, and ashes will be sent back, respectfully, with your package.

 

Q: When can I expect to receive my breastmilk jewelry?

A: Within 2-4 weeks from the time we receive your breastmilk. We are proud to have the quickest turn-around time within the breast milk jewelry market. 

 

Q: What is the jewelry made of?

A: All jewelry pieces are made of .925 italian rhodium silver. Items are plated in rose gold, yellow gold, and even black rhodium when chosen. We stand behind our quality of jewelry and offer the best of the best.

Custom orders vary depending on what the customer wants done. (e.g. 14k, 18k, 24k gold, diamonds, birthstones, etc.)

 

Q: How do custom orders work?

A: Custom orders will be a process of reviewing and confirming your customizations, materials, and final quote via email once the order form is submitted.

To get to the order form, you will select the “Custom Orders” tab on the home page. Fill out all of the required boxes about your custom vision. Before submitting, upload your reference pictures for us to evaluate and reach out to you to begin the process.

A separate invoice will be sent to you once the custom order and quote is confirmed.

Q: How does breast milk turn into a stone?

A: Breastmilk preservation takes a timely approach. In order for breastmilk to turn into a stone, it undergoes a process of solidification. This can take up to 48 hours or more to reach a level of absolute dehydration. It is then finely pulverized and amalgamated to premium resin along with other preservation additives to achieve the perfect milk stone.

 

Q: How do I care for my jewelry?

A: Treat and clean your jewelry as if it were glass. Apply a damp cloth and mild dish soap in order to clean your jewelry. Rinse with luke-warm water at the end.
Avoid direct or extreme UV heat exposure to the milkstone.
Avoid direct application of alcohol, acetone, perfume, or vinegar to the milkstone.

Apply a polishing cloth over your pieces to keep them shining.
When stored away, keep them in a dark, dry location such as your jewelry box.

 

Q: Is there a storefront I can visit?

A: We will be at OC maker-markets throughout the year. Check our social media pages to stay updated about our upcoming events.

This is a great opportunity for locals to get to know the artist, discuss processes, designs, customizations, complete transactions, and pick-up orders/drop-off breastmilk!

 

Q: Is there a guarantee?

A: Yes. Our Everlasting Guarantee: As long as you retain the milk stone and jewelry piece, we offer a guarantee of repairs with free shipping. Turn-around time however can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks. Remakes of the stone are not offered, unless the rare occasion of the milk stone altering its appearance within 90 days of receiving your order. Damages and lost pieces do not qualify for the Everlasting Guarantee, excluding shipment damages. We assure you each piece is specially made and picked out for the best, final product.

Please contact customercare@mymilkstone.com if you believe you need a remake of your stone. Include your order number, name, and picture of your jewelry. 

 

Q: Is there a way I can surprise breastmilk jewelry to a loved one?

A: Yes, you can. If you would like to surprise them, you can sneak one ounce of their breast milk into a spare breastmilk storage bag, and ship it to us. Or we can work together to come up with a game plan! Don’t hesitate to reach out to us at contact@mymilkstone.com

If you are local in the OC, CA area, we can meet up as well! I have done so before with a husband who wanted to surprise his wife and everything worked excellent! I keep things professional and effective.

Q: What sets this breastmilk jewelry apart from others?

A: We genuinely care and take pride in the service and quality we provide to our customers. Unlike other breastmilk jewelry entities, we do our best to achieve the best creation in a timely manner, quality, and cost. Others can take up to three times as long for turnaround time, offer substandard quality, limited customizations, and not be as flexible with their customers like we are. We don’t mind going the extra mile for you!

 

Q: What if my jewelry is lost or damaged during shipment?

A: No worries! If your piece is lost or damaged during shipment, please notify us and we will remake the same piece for you. We save your preserved breastmilk for these situations or future orders. Custom pieces may require other guidelines. If so, please reach out to us and we will make things right. 

 

Q: Are refunds available? 

A: Yes, full refunds are available within 24 hours from the time you submitted your order. Please note that due to the time and unique creation of your preserved breastmilk, refunds are not available after you received your jewelry. Refunds are not available to lost or damaged pieces, excluding shipment losses. Each piece is made with care and is one of a kind.
